About the event
A four day Experience honoring the Divine Feminine power of Mami Wata and her Sisters from the Four Directions. It will begin on Mami’s Feast Day, June 25th with a blessing tunnel, ceremony, dinner, and entertainment. The following day a panel of crowned Priestesses will share sacred wisdom from their traditions and the seat of their grandmothers. Continuing into the weekend, there will be workshops, a ceremonial performance, blessings at the Mississippi river and a culminating celebration in Congo Square.

Mami Wata Feast Day ONLY
A Feast held at The Temple of Light - Musician's Village, in honor of Mami Wata, whose Feast Day is June 25th around the world. Attendees will be cleansed upon entering. The new shrine will be unveiled which has been under construction for the last few months. There will be prayer, libation, music, poetry, feast, and ceremony honoring Mami Wata. Mothers Wisdom Panel ONLY

Mami's Medicine Workshop ONLY
Workshops will be facilitated by Priestesses from various traditions sharing their knowledge about release, renewal and embodying a more empowered self. The facilitators come from the Tibetan Buddhist traditions, Ghanaian traditions, Nigerian traditions and the traditions of our grandmothers. Workshops will be held at the Jazz & Heritage Center -1225 N Rampart Street Drinks and refreshments will be provided.

Goddess Rising Ceremony ONLY
The night will begin with a return to the sacred womb of the Mother where healing first began. There will be a blessing canal as people enter. Priestesses from various traditions will embody the power of the Goddess from their traditions through storytelling, song, and movement. This is the rise of the Goddesses sent to birth a New World held at the Jazz & Heritage Center - 1225 N Rampart Street.

Wata Blessing ONLY
A Blessing Ceremony honoring the Mothers know by many names. This is an open city wide invitation for people to bring their children, partners, and families to the Mississippi River (Holy Cross Levee) to be blessed by the great mother of us all. Priestesses will bring their medicine for individual and family blessings. Please wear white and bring flowers, fruits and any other offerings to honor the mothers. Free and open to the public. Love donations will be accepted on site.
